Recreational cannabis in an outdoor public place is effectively closed off across Vaughan. The openings are a federal medical authorisation or a court order. The document has to be on you and handed to an officer on request.
Above the municipal layer the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 applies, with York Region Public Health running enforcement on the health side. The Act sets the age at 19, caps public possession at 30 grams, and bars cannabis inside a vehicle that’s in motion or ready to move.
