What “budget” means here

Not trim. Not old stock. Cured flower at the lower rungs of the grading ladder — smaller nugs, a plainer nose, less frost — that burns clean and does exactly what it’s supposed to.

What you give up is appearance and smell, and a bit of potency. What you keep is the reason you’re buying it.

The four

Product From What it is
Pick of the day (Lows) $60 Rotating value lot, strain chosen by us
Hash Bomb $60 A named indica-dominant jar with CBD in it
Golden Goat 7-pack $40 Seven grams, rolled, sativa, day
Oreoz 7-pack $40 Same format, indica, night

The two pre-roll packs are the cheapest entry — $40 for seven grams already rolled, which works out to about $5.70 a gram with the labour included.

Rotating lots, and why they’re cheaper

Lows is priced the way it is because you don’t choose the strain. We pick whichever value lot came in that morning, and that flexibility is what keeps it at the bottom of the ladder.

If you smoke daily and mostly want something that burns well, that trade is a good one. If you care which strain is in the jar, it isn’t.

Where budget stops making sense

One rung up, Mids sits in the AAA band with tighter nugs and a louder nose. Two rungs up, the named AAAA jars start.

The honest advice: if you’re smoking every day, buy value flower by the ounce and spend the difference on one good jar for when it matters. Buying mid-grade for both jobs tends to serve neither well.

Getting more out of cheaper flower

Store it properly. Airtight, dark, room temperature — value bud has less aroma to begin with and loses it faster in a jar on a windowsill.

Grind it well. Smaller, looser nugs burn unevenly if they’re broken up by hand, and that’s usually what’s behind the “harsh” complaint at this tier.

Cheap weed FAQ

Is cheap weed bad weed?

It’s smaller, looser and less aromatic. It’s still cured and still burns clean. You’re giving up appearance and smell, not safety.

What’s the cheapest thing on this shelf?

The plain pre-roll 7-packs at $40 — seven grams, already rolled.

Why is Pick of the day cheaper?

You don’t choose the strain. We pick whichever value lot arrived that morning.

How much is a cheap ounce in Toronto?

Value-tier ounces start at $100 on our shelf. Anything advertised much below that is usually trim or old stock.

Is it weaker?

Somewhat, though less than the price gap suggests. The bigger differences are density, smell and trim.

Should I buy budget or mid grade?

If you smoke daily, buy value by the ounce and keep one good jar for when it matters, rather than buying mid-grade for both.

How should I store it?

Airtight, dark, room temperature. Value flower loses its aroma faster than top shelf does.

Do you deliver same day in Toronto?

Yes, in about two hours between noon and 23:00, across Toronto.
